Waggy Tails Resort - North Bay, Ontario

This was our family's first experience with a boarding facility while we were away, and I felt a bit anxious about leaving our dog since she hasn't always been the friendliest toward others. However, Waggy Tails Resort welcomed her with open arms and facilitated a smooth transition. It was heartwarming to witness the staff eagerly greet her, genuinely excited to make a new friend. Given the number of animals they encounter, I was pleasantly surprised that each new arrival still sparks such enthusiasm. Both the owners and staff have a deep love for animals. Our dog returned even better than when she left! Her aggression has diminished, and she appears more at ease around new dogs and people. We will be bringing her back! This experience has proven to be the best thing for our dog.

As always, Bill, Pauline and the team were excellent. Paddy loves going to Waggy Tails for play days. This time, he had an overnight stay and loved it. He came home happy and exhausted! He is looking forward to more play days and another vacation in May. Thank you Waggy Tails.

There really aren't enough words to express my gratitude for the services that Waggy Tails provide. My first dog to go was Peaches and when she died in 2018 Bill called me as soon as he got the message that she had passed. Honey is now a regular and loves her play time and overnights there. Bill and his staff truly care about the dogs and are always coming up with ideas to enhance their business and the dogs experiences. Thank you so much.

Waggy Tails Resort is a truly amazing place of love. My 12 year old dog had never been left even one night without family. He has separation anxiety. Well my special needs boy was well cared for, loved, and treated like a king. This is no ordinary pet resort. The owners truly care and love all the animals they watch. They were kind and compassionate. I highly recommend them to take care of your fur babies. I am impressed! Wish I could give 6 stars!! Thank you!

I was referred to this dog day care and their service does not disappoint. They answered all of the questions I had and were so patient. I trust that they can handle my excitable and sensitive boy. The whole team really know what they’re doing. I absolutely love the crafts they offer, this painting was a great gift when we picked Axel up from boarding. I would 110% recommend Waggy Tails Resort to anyone. We live 1.5h aways and this facility is the only one we will be using.

Hoping to try again.

We had our dog boarding for the first time recently. We had to go away for my grandfather's funeral.

I wasn't able to get a tour and wasn't able to see a photo of my dog until the next day, 1.5 hrs, before I picked him up. The power went out so he also wasn't able to get the bath or pup tini we ordered and apparently didn't eat the rice and beef we ordered either (that worries me a little as he is so food motivated). *Please know they didn't charge me for any of the stuff my dog didn't get/eat.

From the business perspective, I understand it takes a lot to give a tour because they need to move the dogs its disruptive, etc. And they would prefer to have more than one at a time. I also understand they were busy caring for the dogs in their care and didn't have time to post photos sooner. In addition, it is not within their control if the powers gos out.

From my perspective, I had a death to deal with, needed to travel, and I needed to leave my dog boarding somewhere I hadn't seen, with people I didn't really know. I wasn't able to see photos of him until close to pick up, and there was a thunderstorm during the time he was there (he is afraid of thunder). The power went out and he wasn't able to get the perks planned either.

It feels like a lot of things lined up to make this experience what it was. If it wasn't a death, I could have provided more notice. Maybe then there may have been a tour. Maybe next time they would have more time to show or post comforting photos of my dog, happy, engaging or having fun in their care to put me at ease. Hopefully, the power won't go out and he'll be able to get all the treats and attention and pampering I plan for him.

They did reply to me (and quickly) when I messaged on Facebook checking up on him, so I appreciated that. However seeing him happy on a video or photo is more assuring to me than having someone I don't really know write me that he's good.

I have heard good things about Waggy Tails, and I plan to try again sometime, hoping this was just a one-off type of experience.

Navi has been going to this resort for many years and seem to enjoy to be there! We are definitely grateful for the care she receives when we go away! She is used to have someone around all the time, so it is great to know she receives the same love that she gets home! Thank you very much!
