I have never had such a terrible haircut in my life.

I have thick, long hair, which is usually hard to mess up, but Erika managed to ruin it completely. Now I can’t even tie my hair properly. If you don’t know how to use a razor for cutting hair, just throw it away or quit altogether because it seems like this is not your calling.

I asked for a layered cut, but Erika gave me an uneven mess—my hair is shorter on one side and longer on the other, making it impossible to style nicely. And the bangs? That’s a disaster of its own. Who cuts bangs with a razor? Did you even train for this? Now I have tiny uneven strands all over my bangs because you clearly overcut them. They are impossible to style.

I’m writing this review two months later because my hair has finally grown out a little. Imagine how awful it looked two months ago! I’ve even straightened my hair so you can see how bad this job is. Please, do not go to Erika expecting a Hollywood-style layered cut.

It’s painful and upsetting to look in the mirror every day. Women will understand how deeply frustrating this can be.

I attached a photo of what I wanted. And don’t tell me it’s about the styling—look at how evenly and neatly the layers are cut on both sides. Erika, there’s room for improvement in the new year to enhance your professional skills.

I had Erika do my hair and let me tell you she absolutely nailed it!! I went in with absolutely horrible yellow blonde hair and left with absolutely no yellowing and am beyond happy with the results!! Highly recommend Erika!!

Scheduled a wash and cut.

I was a little bit late (5-10 minutes), so I can understand the speed of service, but skipping steps is unacceptable. Erika only washed my hair and didn’t touch my scalp. Shampoo application was incredibly uneven and some spots were never touched like the nape of my neck, and the entire sides of my head. When she rinsed my hair, she wrung it out like a cloth each time. 2 shampoos and conditioner. That aggressive action on wet hair causes damage and breaking. The conditioner application was the same as the shampoo, and when she rinsed my hair, she completely missed the right side, leaving a bunch of product in.

I have lots of hair, but it’s not super thick. It was around mid breast and pretty healthy. I don’t use heat and I had a pretty fresh straight trim. I asked for a layering cut, which I mentioned on the phone when scheduling the cut, and reconfirmed during the appointment. I showed a reference photo and explained what I liked. I wanted the maintain the triangular shape my hair has, but wanted layering. She took majority of my hair off where I asked to retain the most. I also asked to keep my length, yet she took off about 4 inches. We also confirmed together that I wanted the layers to be blended (there shouldn’t be steps in your hair unless that’s the style - which isn’t layers, it’s steps). She also straightened my hair when it was wet. She had a very heavy hand and was pulling my hair like crazy (while wet, which stretches and damages hair). When there was a knot, she would just rip through it rather than comb it out.

In the pictures and videos, you can see how the layering does not continue into the front pieces, and how they are longer than the rest of my hair. The lower hairs and disconnected from the hair higher in my scalp, rather than blended. When I turn my head to the side, it is uneven and you can see thin and dense spots. The layering between sections is inconsistent. One side is longer or shorter. When I move my hair, you can see just how bad it all is.

I understand that my hair needs to be styled to get the waves that would created the look I want. I have a short, thin, uneven, patchy, inconsistent, and disconnected haircut with a service that damaged my hair. Styling won’t change that.

I am going on vacation shortly to meet my boyfriends family and now need to spend more money and time to find someone to fix my hair.

I’ve included my inspiration pic, the after, and the before. You can see my hair is long enough and dense enough for this haircut. I have very light waves (in some photos, beach waves) but my hair is primarily straight, which I also mentioned to her.

Erika clearly does not know how to cut hair or provide the services this establishment offers. It’s better to refuse a client if you cannot service them correctly, than have an unhappy customer and now 2 negative review saying the same thing.

Erika did an amazing job! I haven’t had my hair cut in 8+ years and was extremely nervous. She did exactly what I wanted, helped me figure out what would look good and made it an extremely positive experience! I’m in love with my new hair!

Another masterpiece by Erika! I couldn't be happier with my cut and colour! I am very picky when it comes to my hair and she has managed to take my hair from very dark to light and long to short, giving me exactly what I asked for. I just love it!! I recommend her to everyone! As for the salon - it's clean and beautiful, and everyone is so friendly. Highly recommend!
